“Excellent wedding reception venue ”

I'd like to add my review to the multiple good reviews for the Peasant as a wedding reception venue.
We attended a friends wedding reception last month and had a great time.
The Venue is a beautiful corner plot traditional pub with an excellent atmosphere.
I'd like to thank the staff especially as they found a lost pendant of mine (from over active and awful dance moves) the following day and arranged its return to me in Bath!
Thankyou Peasant staff

“Amazing London wedding reception venue” September 2016

We held our wedding reception for 70 people last weekend at The Peasant & I cannot thank them enough!
It's a traditional Victorian London pub which creates the best atmosphere for a celebration.
The manager, Nick, is so well versed in hosting weddings there that it was a breeze to organise. All the staff were amazing & the venue looked great decorated. The food is incredible & the fact that everyone got to choose on the day was a big hit with our guests. So many people commented on the standard of food saying that it was the best they'd ever had at a wedding.
The DJ, Lee, that they had recommended was absolutely great & had everyone up dancing all night!
The team at The Peasant made sure our day went perfectly. I really cannot recommend this place enough if you're looking for somewhere relaxed & atmospheric with great food. It really was a day to remember!

Perfect Wedding Reception Venue” (TRIP ADVISOR) SEPTEMBER 2016

My partner and I hosted our wedding reception here and it's honestly hard to come up with enough fantastic things to say about the venue and staff.
The food was exceptional and generously portioned. All of our guests commented on how thrilled they were that they got to choose from a menu on the day. The canapes were out of this world, the nicest scotch eggs you're ever likely to taste.
Nick and his whole team are an absolute pleasure to deal with and made us and our guests incredible comfortable all day. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, they are an absolute credit to the venue.
I would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering as a venue for their reception.

From our first visit to The Peasant we had no doubt that this was the place to host our wedding reception. The incredible decor, laid back atmosphere and stand out food

were all factors, but it was meeting Nick that really sealed it for us. Nick had great ideas and input for the menus, wine and was really helpful and totally supportive. Having

him there from the very beginning and on the day was fantastic. Organising the whole day ourselves was made so much easier by Nick and his team. They are brilliant. We

couldn't help ourselves and ended up eating at The Peasant for numerous Sunday roasts  by far the best in London, some excellent wines too! We had great fun deciding how

to dress the venue. We really didn't need much, the place has such an individual style, and feels so special anyway. Nick was brilliant and allowed us to do everything we

wanted to tailor the place to us. The food is certainly something that stands out for our guests, now seven months on theyre still talking about the canapes and that menu.

The fact our guests could choose on the day was incredible and certainly sets this venue against the rest  I just wish I'd eaten more of it!

The venue works so well with the two floors; drinks reception down stairs with the beautiful dining room upstairs perfect for a wedding breakfast, and then back down stairs for the evening do. And what an evening do it was! My dress was ruined, and I can't remember everything. But I have incredible memories. I wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you so, so much Nick & The Peasant. It really was the best day ever. I just wish we could do it again!

After receiving a recommendation we held our wedding reception at The Peasant on Saturday 14th September, and what an event it was! For those that haven't been to The Peasant, it's a good old fashioned but high end London boozer, with lots of unique characteristics, from the micro paved floor to amazing film and band art work on the walls, that also sports a 100 seater restaurant on the 1st floor that turns out amazing gastronomically styled food and fantastic value for money.

We started dealing with Nick (The Manager) around a year ago, and every step of the way he has been a pleasure to deal with, nothing was too much trouble and he did everything he could to give us the sort of day we wanted. On the day everything ran smoothly; the food was exquisite, our guests were literally blown away by the quality. The Peasant are able to offer a 3 course menu, where guests choose from 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts as they are seated on the day, so you get the feeling you out for a meal with a big group of friends and family, rather than that conveyor belt (of food) feeling you get at most weddings. For us this is one of the unique selling points of having a wedding at the Peasant, especially as they were catering for 80+ guests in total.

Nick also recommended his friend Lee aka DJ Cat Fight as a suitable DJ, and he put on the perfect set for our crowd, who were mainly 28-40 in age, and we all had an amazing time, with the whole bar turning in to one big dance floor (we are a rowdy bunch, but I am sure he is able to cater for more relaxed affairs too!). Nick's staff were extremely accommodating, they kept us entertained and were as smiley and friendly at the beginning of the night, as they were at the end, when we finally cleared out at 1.30 AM.

So many people have told me this is the best wedding they have ever been to, and The Peasant, Nick, and his staff, had a major part in this, and we could not recommend them highly enough!

I am another who had their wedding at The Peasant, this time in May 2012.

Firstly The Peasant is a first class pub with a great and ever changing selection of ale (and, if you must, lager!) loads of cool film and music related posters on the walls, a fabulous original tiled floor and loads of character. They also have that rare thing in a London boozer, a cocktail menu, something I am told was well used during the evening of our do. I have not eaten downstairs but the menu looks as enticing as it does in the upstairs restaurant.

We ate in the restaurant prior to our wedding, my wife to be, her bridesmaid and me. The upstairs restaurant is lovely space for eating, with a collection of circus related posters and a fun feel to it. We had three really excellent courses for £22 from the special menu which also included a massive king prawn amuse bouche. A A special mention for my pork belly starter and chicken main, both of which were lovely to look at, really tasty and a perfect sized portion. Everything was desperately tasty and we had a couple of bottles of good value wine.

Amazingly, the standard of food at our wedding, feeding 52 hungry mouths was of the same impeccable standard. Absolutely EVERYONE has mentioned at least once how good the food was and how amazed they were that a choice was offered on the day (three choices for each of the three courses). Ever known universal satisfaction at a wedding? No me niether which says loads about The Peasant. The manager, Nick, and his staff are an absolute credit to the trade, absolutely first class whether you are simply popping in for a drink or catering for a big group. Nothing was too much bother and Nick was able to accommodate everything we wanted on the day.

I would thoroughly, thoroughly recommend The Peasant for anything from a quick after work drink to a full blown event. Great food, ale, service and atmosphere. What else could you want? I often think of my favourite pubs and The Peasant has made it into my top two ever- this is not because it has obvious lifelong connotations for my wife and I, but because it is a simply a fabulous boozer.

We had our wedding at The Peasant in June 2012. I can't add much to the fantastic reviews below but can reiterate that Nick and his lovely team worked hard to make our day perfect. We wanted a typically London venue, and somewhere serving excellent food which is difficult to find when you have 80 guests. The Peasant provided both. The upstairs restaurant is a beautiful room for party. We opted for canapes (mini fish & chips, welsh rarebit, and yorkshire puddings with beef) instead of a starter which we had during our drinks reception downstairs in the pub. They were all excellent. We then had 3 choices for mains and desert upstairs in the restaurant. Since the wedding we have had countless comments from friends on how good the food was and how impressed they were with the choice. Nick and his staff accommodated all our special requests - from having cocktails during our reception to decorating the pub in the way that we wanted - which made the day unique to us. They're a lovely, professional team who enabled us to have the fun, relaxed celebration that we wanted. Aside from our wedding we have eaten in The Peasant a number of times and the food has been equally good each time. They also have a great drinks menu.

Overall, this is a pub/restaurant which I would highly recommend!
