Join us for a candle-lit dinner at The Peasant on Sunday October 26th, 2014, 7pm – 12:30. We’ll be celebrating Dylan Thomas’ centenary with a feast of poetry, food, music & art. Some of our finest poets: Gillian Clarke, Menna Elfyn, Sue Hubbard, Patrick McGuiness, Ruth Padel, Clare Pollard & Owen Sheers will be reading their new poems inspired by Dylan Thomas. There’ll be signed, limited edition programmes illustrated by award-winning artist Dan Llywelyn Hall & music with the legendary Geraint Watkins. Dinner will include a three course meal, a welcome drink & Prosecco toast to Dylan at midnight. The event supports the charity PAN Intercultural Arts. A night to remember! This year is a London Special with all the Ales being brewed within the M25. Pork and Crackling baps will be available and some truly oustanding Ales will be on show. Come on down!

‘REDEMPTION SONG’ by Chris Salewicz Monday 15th July 2013 Upstairs in the Dining room from 6.30pm.There was a time when the Clash ruled the airwaves and our hearts, they were and most likely remain the cool of the coolest . Joe Strummer sang, wrote and lived his heart out for a better rockin more liberal and more tolerent society. Chris salewicz had his ear throughout Joe's rise and yes there was a fall. Take the late train home and come and listen to the enigmatic Mr Salewicz and remember the day you heard Police and Thieves or White Man in Hammersmith Palais or lets face it: London Calling.

An evening hosted by George Binette with Chris Salewicz author of ‘Redemption Song’ the definitive biography of Joe Strummer which is sometimes referred to as: the ballad of Joe Strummer. Chris will be reading extracts from his stunning book followed by a Q&A about Joe and his band The Clash 'George Binette was key to documenting the extraordinay reunion of Strummer and Mick Jones for what proved the final time at the FBU firefighters' benefit gig at Acton Town Hall 15 November 2002.' Chris Salewicz was the right man for the job when it came to writing Strummer’s biography with a friendship that spanned thirty years Chris was privy to Joe’s and the band’s thoughts on many occasions.
