About us
The Peasant is one of London’s best freehouse gastropubs. It is an old well-kept old gin palace, lovingly cared for by Gregory and Patrick Wright since 2001. The bar area retains many original features of the gin palace ambience - 17th Century mosaic floors, and glazed tiled walls, whilst the restaurant upstairs features old circus memorabilia – making for a comfortable dining experience. Along with the bar and first floor restaurant is a lush and intimate dining garden for up to 12 people.

Affiliates
The Peasant practises an ethical approach to our fine food and drinking experience. We actively source food locally ourselves from the nearby Smithfields Market. This gives you the highest possible standard of dining at our award winning restaurant and bar - as well allowing us to do our bit for the environment, keeping our energy use and carbon footprint to a minimum!
