Nestled in the heart of London's Clerkenwell; The Peasant has always been at the fore-front of the gastro revolution. "Some Say" it was the second ever gastro pub in the UK. With a stunning restaurant filled with natural light and the owners collection of circus memorabilia/art and a Victorian horseshoe bar which features an original mosiac floor throughout. There are two different menus: a la carte for the dining room and a little lighter for the bar. We also have one of the best beer selections available including beers from some of the finest brewers includingCrouch Vale, Four Pure, camden Town, Brooklyn, Beaverton, Hammerton, Hackney, Bath Ales, Hawkes and our very own Sponsor: 'Meantime Brewery'. The Peasant has won numerous awards in it's majestic history including: Regional winner for 'London' ' Best Gastro Pub'at The Great British Pub awards, Regional Winner for London Archant awards: 'Best Gastro Pub'. Tattler Magazine Restaurant award winner also we are regularly featured in the best Wedding venue magazines/blogs and websites and voted in the top one hundred wedding venues in the UK by Conde Nast Brides Magazine and always tipped highly on Trip advisor. Grab a Black Cab and in all likelihood the driver will know his way to this grand bastion of gastro pub-ness. Brothers Gregory and Patrick have owned the Peasant for over seventeen years although on a daily basis the pub is now managed by the supremo Nick Rouse who, after several years of personal pub ownership decided to bring his expertise to this glorious leviathan whilst the Brothers take care of sister pub: The Londesborough of Stoke Newington.
